This is a Striped Bark Scorpion. It is very common in North Lubbock, the Woodrow area, Wolfforth, Shallowater, and the canyon areas. They tend to hang around old draws, river beds dried or flowing. When it gets really hot or really cold, they tend to come inside. They have a nasty sting and if you're allergic can be medically significant. Otherwise they just hurt.
